Diverse Field Placement Settings
Widener University’s online MSW program offers field placement opportunities in a wide range of settings, including healthcare organizations, social service agencies, schools, government agencies, and nonprofit organizations. This diversity of placement settings ensures that students are exposed to different populations and practice areas, allowing them to develop a well-rounded skill set and explore various career paths within the field of social work.
During your field placement, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals, applying theoretical knowledge to practice and developing essential skills such as assessment, intervention, and case management. Field placements provide a platform for students to integrate classroom learning with real-world scenarios, gaining a deeper understanding of the challenges and rewards of social work practice.
Supervision and Support
Throughout your field placement, you will receive supervision and support from both on-site supervisors and faculty members. On-site supervisors, who are experienced social workers, will provide guidance and mentorship, offering valuable feedback and helping you navigate the complexities of social work practice.
