Classroom Observation
Students in the teaching program have the opportunity to observe experienced teachers in action. This allows them to gain insights into effective teaching strategies, classroom management techniques, and student engagement methods.
Student Teaching
As students progress through the program, they have the chance to engage in student teaching experiences. Under the guidance of mentor teachers, students take on increasing responsibilities in the classroom, gradually assuming the role of a teacher. This hands-on experience is invaluable in building confidence and developing effective teaching practices.
Internships
The University of Memphis also collaborates with local schools and educational organizations to provide internships for its teaching program students. These internships offer students the opportunity to work closely with experienced professionals, gain practical experience, and make connections in the field.
