Exchange Programs
Many Ugandan universities have established exchange programs with universities in Europe, North America, Asia, and Africa. These programs allow students to spend a semester or year studying abroad, immersing themselves in different educational systems and cultures.
- Makerere University has exchange agreements with over 100 universities worldwide, including the University of Oxford, Harvard University, and the University of Melbourne.
- Kyambogo University offers exchange programs with universities in China, Japan, and South Korea.
- Mbarara University of Science and Technology has partnerships with universities in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
Study Abroad Opportunities
In addition to exchange programs, Ugandan universities offer study abroad opportunities that allow students to complete part of their degree at an international university.
- Makerere University has a partnership with the University of Edinburgh that allows students to complete their final year of study in Scotland.
- Uganda Christian University has a study abroad program with the University of California, Berkeley.
- Busitema University offers a study abroad program with the University of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa.
