Athletics
Texas A&M University Corpus Christi offers a comprehensive athletic program with a strong focus on student-athlete success. As a member of the NCAA Division I Southland Conference, the university fields 17 varsity teams that compete in various sports, including basketball, baseball, softball, football, volleyball, tennis, and track and field.
The Islanders have a rich athletic history, with several teams achieving notable success. The men’s basketball team has won multiple conference championships and made several NCAA Tournament appearances. The women’s basketball team has also been successful, earning conference titles and competing in the NCAA Tournament. The baseball team has also made several NCAA Tournament appearances and produced several professional players.
In addition to varsity athletics, Texas A&M University Corpus Christi offers a wide range of intramural and recreational sports opportunities for students. The university’s athletic facilities include a state-of-the-art athletic complex, a baseball stadium, and a softball field, providing students with excellent training and competition venues.

Texas A&M University Corpus Christi has invested heavily in its athletic facilities to provide its student-athletes with the best possible environment to train and compete. The university’s athletic complex, the Dugan Wellness Center, is a 120,000-square-foot facility that includes a basketball arena, a volleyball court, a fitness center, and a swimming pool. The baseball stadium, Chapman Field, has a seating capacity of 3,000 and is one of the finest facilities in the Southland Conference. The softball field, the Softball Field at Chapman Ranch, has a seating capacity of 500 and is also one of the top facilities in the conference.
Intramural and Recreational Sports
