Practicum
In addition to field experiences, the Teacher Ready Program includes a practicum component that provides students with the opportunity to take on a more active role in the classroom. Under the guidance of a mentor teacher, students gradually assume teaching responsibilities, gaining practical teaching experience and honing their instructional skills.
The practicum allows students to implement the strategies and techniques they have learned in a real classroom setting. They have the opportunity to plan and deliver lessons, assess student progress, and engage in classroom management. This hands-on experience helps students develop their own teaching style, build confidence, and refine their ability to meet the diverse needs of their students.
Diverse School Placements
The Teacher Ready Program ensures that students have the opportunity to gain experience in a variety of school settings. Students are placed in diverse classrooms, including urban, suburban, and rural schools, as well as schools with a high population of English language learners or students with special needs.
