Supervision and Mentorship
Throughout their clinical rotations, students are supervised and mentored by experienced healthcare professionals, including physicians, PAs, and other members of the healthcare team. This close mentorship allows students to learn from experts in the field, receive feedback on their performance, and develop professional relationships that may be valuable in their future careers.
Patient Interactions
Clinical rotations provide students with the opportunity to interact with patients directly, under the guidance of their preceptors. Students will develop their bedside manner, communication skills, and the ability to provide compassionate care to diverse patient populations. These patient interactions are invaluable in shaping students’ understanding of the role of a PA and the importance of patient-centered care.
Integration of Didactic Knowledge
During their clinical rotations, students have the opportunity to apply the knowledge gained in the didactic portion of the program. They can observe and participate in patient assessments, diagnose medical conditions, develop treatment plans, and assist in various medical procedures. This integration of theory and practice enhances students’ understanding of medical concepts and strengthens their clinical decision-making abilities.
