Clinical Training
The MA-SLP program at Saint Xavier University offers extensive clinical training to prepare students for careers as speech-language pathologists. The program combines coursework with hands-on experiences in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of communication disorders.
Students have the opportunity to work with individuals across the lifespan, from infants with feeding difficulties to adults with aphasia. Under the guidance of experienced faculty and licensed speech-language pathologists, students develop skills in conducting evaluations, designing intervention plans, and implementing evidence-based therapy techniques. These clinical experiences take place in the university’s state-of-the-art speech and hearing clinic, as well as external clinical sites.
Research Opportunities
The MA-SLP program at Saint Xavier University values the importance of research in advancing the field of speech-language pathology. Students have the opportunity to engage in research projects under the guidance of faculty members who are actively involved in research initiatives.
