Medical School Curriculum
Upon successful completion of the undergraduate coursework, students transition to the medical school phase at Baylor College of Medicine. The medical school curriculum covers a wide range of subjects, including anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, pathology, and clinical skills. Students engage in both didactic lectures and hands-on clinical experiences to develop the knowledge and skills necessary for a career in medicine.
Research Opportunities
The Rice University BS MD Program emphasizes the importance of research in medical education. Students have numerous opportunities to engage in research projects throughout their seven years in the program. Under the guidance of experienced faculty members, students can explore their scientific interests, contribute to ongoing research efforts, and develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Electives and Specializations
As students progress through the program, they have the opportunity to choose elective courses and specialize in specific areas of medicine that align with their interests and career goals. These electives allow students to gain deeper knowledge in their chosen fields and tailor their education to suit their individual aspirations.
