Community Health Initiatives
The Rice University BS MD Program emphasizes the importance of community engagement and addressing healthcare disparities. Students have the opportunity to participate in community health initiatives, such as health fairs, outreach programs, and educational campaigns, promoting health and well-being in underserved populations.
Clinical Rotations
During their medical school years, students engage in clinical rotations in various specialties, including internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, psychiatry, and more. These rotations provide hands-on experience in different healthcare settings and allow students to apply their knowledge and skills in real-world scenarios.
Interdisciplinary Collaborations
The Rice University BS MD Program encourages interdisciplinary collaborations, enabling students to work alongside professionals from other fields, such as nursing, pharmacy, and social work. These collaborations foster teamwork and an understanding of the importance of a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
