Ekiti State University (EKSU) is a state-owned university located in Ado Ekiti, the capital of Ekiti State, Nigeria. It was established in 1982 by the then Governor of Ondo State, Adekunle Ajasin, as the University of Ado Ekiti.
In 1999, the university was renamed Ekiti State University by the then Governor of Ekiti State, Niyi Adebayo. The university’s mission is to provide quality education and training to its students, to promote research and scholarship, and to contribute to the social, economic, and cultural development of Ekiti State and Nigeria as a whole.
