Founding and Timeline
Damietta University was established in 2012 by Presidential Decree No. 326. Since its inception, the university has witnessed significant growth and expansion, both in terms of its academic offerings and infrastructure.
- 2012: University established by Presidential Decree No. 326.
- 2013: First academic year commences with three faculties: Arts, Science, and Education.
- 2014: Faculties of Engineering, Commerce, and Agriculture are established.
- 2015: Graduate studies programs are launched.
- 2016: Damietta University becomes a member of the Association of Arab Universities.
- 2017: The university’s new campus is inaugurated, providing state-of-the-art facilities for students and faculty.
- 2018: Damietta University is ranked among the top 100 universities in Egypt.
Location and Facilities
Damietta University is situated in the historic city of Damietta, on the banks of the Nile River. The university’s main campus is located in the New Damietta district, offering a modern and vibrant learning environment for students.
The campus features state-of-the-art facilities, including lecture halls, laboratories, libraries, research centers, and student accommodation. The university also has a dedicated sports complex and a cultural center that hosts a variety of events and activities.
