Community Engagement
The California Northstate University BS MD Program recognizes the importance of community involvement and social responsibility in healthcare. Students are encouraged to engage with local communities through service-learning projects, volunteer work, and outreach programs.
By actively participating in community engagement activities, students develop a deeper understanding of the social determinants of health, cultural competency, and the impact of healthcare disparities. These experiences cultivate empathy, compassion, and a patient-centered approach to care, ensuring that students graduate not only as skilled physicians but also as advocates for their patients and communities.
International Experiences
The program also offers international experiences to broaden students’ perspectives and expose them to diverse healthcare systems and cultural practices. Students have the opportunity to participate in medical mission trips, international elective clerkships, or global health research projects.
