Field Experience and Clinical Training
The Azusa Pacific University Mft Program recognizes the importance of hands-on experience in preparing students for their future careers. Through field experience and clinical training opportunities, students have the chance to apply their knowledge and skills in real-world settings under the guidance of experienced professionals.
Internships and Practicums
As part of the Mft Program, students are required to complete internships and practicums in approved clinical settings. These placements provide students with valuable opportunities to work directly with clients under the supervision of licensed professionals. Students gain practical experience in conducting assessments, formulating treatment plans, and providing therapy to individuals, couples, and families.
Supervision and Mentorship
Throughout their clinical training, students receive ongoing supervision and mentorship from experienced therapists. This guidance ensures that students are supported as they navigate the complexities of therapy and allows for continuous learning and growth. Supervision sessions provide students with the opportunity to reflect on their work, receive feedback, and enhance their therapeutic skills.
